Don’t Be Like The Man With The Dead Legs

randall daluz coronavirus covid19 attitude hopeSeveral weeks ago, I was speaking to my dearest friend, Terry. She was going through some stressful times. I told her a story about a conversation I had had the night before. I was standing in the prison med line in the medical department as is my nightly routine. I got into a conversation with a fellow convict and believer about how wonderful it is to have our faith. We discussed how blessed we are even in prison. An older man who was in line with us interjected with, “Oh y’all are blessed and favored, huh? What are you doing in prison if your so blessed?”
I looked at him and said, “Only my body is in prison. My soul belongs to GOD. I am blessed because I have a guaranteed spot in heaven when my soul leaves this body. That’s how I have joy… even in here.”
At that, he laughed. ” Ha ha ha!!!! That’s a good one alright. How ya know if there’s a Heaven fool?”
“My LORD promised me that there is and that I have a place in HIS divine kingdom,” I said with complete conviction.
“Well ain’t you something then huh?”, he said.
“You could go to Heaven too,” I said. “You could have the same joy as I do.”
“Look at me!”, he said. “You see these rotten legs and the sickness and age in my body?” He is in his sixties and his legs are necrotic. The tissue is dying and the doctors want to amputate them, but he won’t let them. “I only got 8 teeth left out of 32. My bones and my joints ache and my back is crooked. GOD AIN’T DONE NOTHING FOR ME! I got no reason to feel joy. Ain’t no Heaven. This here is hell!”, he passionately proclaimed.
There was no consoling him. No matter what I or my brother in Christ said, he wouldn’t hear it.

When I had finished with the story, I said to Terry, “Don’t be like the man with the dead legs. Have faith in GOD and be joyful.”
“Wow!” she said. “That was a great story. You should write it down and share it with others.”
All of that happened weeks before I ever the words: “coronavirus” or “COVID-19”. I dragged my feet when it came to writing this and I am glad that I did because now is a very fitting time for this story.

randall daluz medical mask virusOur country and our world is going through a lot right now. Faith is what we need right now. It is what will sustain us through this. As I am writing this, I am in a prison for something I didn’t even do. Prison is probably the worst place to be during a plague. It is close quarters and there is no escaping a virus. Not far from here, 12 people have died in a veterans home. To top it all off, I have both asthma and a chronic lung disease. Which means I am among the most likely people to die if I catch this virus. Not only that, but the people who run this place, the ones in charge of my care, are also the most dangerous threats to me. Any one of them could become infected and thus infect me. Some of them refuse to wears masks and gloves, putting me at even greater risk. Am I scared? Sometimes. But when I feel low, I remember the second song of praise I ever learned way back when I was a child in Sunday school. “HE’S GOT THE WHOLE WORLD IN HIS HANDS. HE’S GOT THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD IN HIS HANDS. HE’S GOT THE TINY LITTLE BABIES IN HIS HANDS. HE’S GOT THE WHOLE WORLD IN HIS HANDS.” That song plays in my head and I am soothed. I pray and recite Romans 8:28. I remind myself of John 3:16. I hold on to the hope and promise that I have in JESUS. PRAISE HIS NAME AND SHOUT HALLELUJAH!!!!!!! GOD is with us! Of whom shall we be afraid, my brothers and sisters? I am not afraid to physically die for my soul will live forever in the kingdom of GOD!!!!!!!! If you believe yours will too, then shout Amen!!!!!!!!! And fear not for you are a child of GOD and yours is the kingdom of Heaven!!!!!!!

randall daluz finances hard timesNow, I know times is hard. Some of you have lost your jobs. You can’t pay your rent and you don’t know where your next meal or paycheck will come from. Maybe you own a small business and the stimulus may not be enough to save it. You might get buried in debt. Perhaps your house is headed for foreclosure or you’re dipping into your kids college fund or maybe your retirement fund. I say, “Rejoice and have faith in GOD!!!!!!!!!” GET ON YOUR KNEES AND PRAISE HIM FOR KNOW MATTER WHAT HAPPENS YOU WILL BE OKAY!!!!!!! Maybe you’ve been praying and haven’t gotten what you asked for. HE does things in HIS own time not ours. The Jews prayed and prayed for deliverance yet they spent 400 years in captivity before GOD sent them Moses. HE made them promises and HE made good on them in HIS time. I say rejoice and have faith right now.

You know, I don’t know what’s coming. Where I am sitting right now I am helpless. I have zero control over what happens. What I can control is my faith and my attitude. I don’t know about you, but personally, I do not trust the news. I saw how unfair and untruthful they truly are through my case. If you knew a friend or family member who stretched out the truth, lied at times, or sensationalized stories, you wouldn’t exactly take their word for it when they told you things. You would consider the source and their motivations. Its scary depending on that source to tell you what’s going on. Your mind can get away on you and anxiety, fear, sadness, and depression take over. Peace and be still. GOD IS GREAT ALL THE TIME. If you’re saved you will be okay no matter what happens. If you’re not, then I pity you. That is a very unsettling position to be in. If I were you I would consider where I’m going should I die. I implore you to seek and accept JESUS as your personal LORD and SAVIOR. Do it now without any doubt or delay. If you mean it, I promise you that everything will work in your favor.

To all you true believers I say to you, “Rejoice and be calm. Don’t be like the man with dead legs!”

I LOVE ALL OF YOU IN CHRIST!!!

May GOD Bless and Keep you all and may GOD BLESS AMERICA, LAND THAT I LOVE. STAND BESIDE HER AND GUIDE HER!!!!!!! AMEN AND AMEN!!!!!!!

LOVE IN CHRIST,

Worldly Pollution!

Philippians 4:8  “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”

Dearly Beloved:  May GOD’s grace, love, peace, joy and cleansing power be ever upon you.  I want to talk to you about all of the mental and spiritual pollution that exists in this corrupted world.  Now, I am not talking about greenhouse gasses or smog.  I am talking about things like pornography, violence, drugs, alcohol and the like.  Now, a lot of us are influenced by the environment that we put ourselves in, the people we are around and the places that we frequent.  And, let us not forget the content that we view.  All of those things infect our minds.  And, in time we begin to reflect what it is we surround ourselves with.  And when our surroundings are negative and sinful, we become polluted by them.  Poison seeps into our bodies and brings out our sinful nature.  That’s right, I said sinful nature; because as humans we are inherently sinful.  We are born sinners by our very nature.  We are sinners from the alpha and we will continue to sin until the omega; that is to say – from the beginning until the end of our earthly existence.  Since Adam and Eve fell in the garden, we have been inherently sinful and that will never change in this world.   (more…)

Lean On Me

https://www.pexels.com/photo/hand-with-oil-pastel-draws-the-heart-6333/Romans 5:1-5  “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Dearly Beloved:  May God’s peace, grace, mercy and love be ever upon you and may you share it with one another.  Oh boy, what a month!  My dear friend, Erica, died and now my beautiful and precious Goddaughter and niece, Kyrah, is fighting for her life.  She has been med-flighted to Boston by helicopter and as I am writing this, she is on life support and in a coma.  Kyrah was born with a heart defect where only one side of her heart works.  She has been a miracle child since she was born.  She is only sixteen and she has had more than five open heart surgeries.  People with her condition usually don’t live past thirteen years old.  Ever the fighter, Kyrah has defied the odds.  Throughout her life, doctors have been stunned at the level of energy Kyrah has.  Most kids with her condition are weak and tired all the time.  Not Kyrah.  If you didn’t see her scars or heard her story, you would never know that she has a heart condition.  Her strength and energy are remarkable even for a healthy person.  Kyrah has always been an inspiration to all of us who know and love her.  I believe that that is exactly what God intended her to be. Undefeatable In CHRIST

MLKquote_OnlyLoveCanDriveOutHateRomans 12:21  Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

May GOD’s strength, power, light, wisdom and glory be ever upon you all.  I have a confession to make.  My last post, “Unchain Your Heart“, was written over a year ago.  I have several backup posts in case I were unable or unwilling to write.  I was in a bit of a funk.  All the racisim and violence taking place in my country has deeply affected me.  Let me give my belated condolences to all the families of all the victims whether they were police officers or citizens.  The racial issues in our justice system are very personal to me as a person of color who is currently being railroaded and shafted by this wickedly unjust system.  It really struck a nerve in me and I could not write because I was so emotional that I would not have been able to serve GOD the way that I should.  As the violence continued down south, a decision was made in my appeal.  The judges found all kinds of excuses as to why it is okay to use someones skin color against them at trial.  They had little to back up their decision, so they included things that were not even argued at trial to justify their awful and politically motivated decision.  I expected that.  There is a terrible sickness in this country.  Racism is a plague.  People who turn a blind eye to it and pretend that it doesn’t exist are afraid. Unchain Your Heart

https://www.pexels.com/photo/silhouette-man-person-stars-12567/Hebrews 2:15  “…and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”

Dear Readers:  Many of us spend a great deal of our lives in bondage, chained down by sin, pain, shame, loneliness and sadness.  I tell you that even though I am in physical bondage, I am freer than most people outside of the prison in which I reside.  Though my body is confined, I am spiritually free.  Indeed, I feel more free than I ever did in the outside world.  Hallelujah!  Praise God!  My mind has been unlocked.  My heart is no longer encased.  My soul has escaped the confines of death; for I am eternal in Christ Jesus.  That means that I shall never taste death, nor shall I ever know defeat.  I have not attained such on my own.  I traded my old life for a new one by accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  From the moment I first believed, I became eternally free.  Praise God!  And, I have never looked back.  My eyes stay on heaven and the glory of the Lord. Connected By Christ

ConnectedByChristRomans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Dearly Beloved:
Greetings, blessings, peace, love, joy and grace unto you.  Amen!
Have you ever experienced an ominous connection between the people, places and things in your life?  I truly believe that there is purpose and meaning in everything we experience.  As Christians in possession of the Holy Spirit, our eyes become opened as we awaken to the truth of the light.  As we grow in our faith, we engage in a spiritual transformation.  We see the world through the eyes of JESUS.  Things which were once hidden are gradually revealed.  Hidden within the fabric of life, there is a single thread which ties everything, every event, every living thing, every micro-gram of matter together.

How many strange and unexplained “coincidences” have you experienced?  Think about it!  How many times have you thought of yourself as lucky?  Your rent is past due and suddenly some completely unexpected money appears.  You decide to run an errand after work which takes you a different route home and you later find out there was a tragic and fatal accident on your normal route which you avoided by feeling compelled to run that errand.  Maybe you get an overwhelming urge to check on your elderly parents (more…)

Be Committed To Peace !

http://gratisography.com/pictures/294_1.jpgRomans 14:19  Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.

Dearly Beloved,
May God’s grace, joy, peace and love be ever upon you.
I’d like to talk to you about being committed to peace. We should strive to be at peace with God, ourselves and each other. The situation of incarceration that I currently find myself in requires one to be patient and disciplined. In order for one to live peacefully in here, one must master the skill of cohabitation, in close quarters, with others. As many of you who have been following this blog know, I spent nearly eight months in solitary confinement in the state of Maine. Before that, I spent close to three years in county jails fighting for my freedom. I did share a cell block with others, but I had single cells. I was completely alone in solitary, physically (spiritually, Jesus remained faithfully by my side.) Thus, for three years I have had my own space and slept alone. I have recently been assigned a roommate here in Massachusetts. His name, which is truly ironic in prison, is Freedom. It has taken some getting used to. You see, I have committed myself to living peacefully with others to the best of my God-given ability. It is with that commitment in my heart that I have taken on the challenge of living with someone in what is essentially a locked bathroom with bunk beds. (more…)

Suicide Is Never The Answer

II Corinthians 4:8-10  We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”

Dearly Beloved:  May the blessings of the Lord be upon you.  This post, I am sad to say, was inspired by a very tragic event – suicide.  A few days ago, a man killed himself in the next cell block over from mine.  I did not know him, but his death never-the-less has deeply affected me.  All life matters to God.  This man’s death has hit home for me as an incarcerated man.  You see, it was the despair over his circumstances and the gloominess of confinement which swallowed that man’s life.  He allowed it to consume him.  He succumbed to his suffering and the brutally unjust nature of this world.  It was satan who caused him to destroy himself.  He manipulated him into doing the unthinkable.  We (all of us) are in danger of succumbing to the despair and suffering we face in this world.   (more…)

Surviving By Faith

http://gratisography.com/pictures/236_1.jpgRomans 4:20-21  He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.”

Dear Readers,
Greetings, blessings, peace, love, joy and grace unto you, my beautiful brothers and sisters.  I want to send my love and prayers to my brothers and sisters in America and in Paris, France.  My condolences to all of you who have been victims of terror attacks.  In times like these, we must be strong in our faith; for it is through our faith that our minds are strengthened.  Evil is at an all time high right now.  I believe that things are going to get much worse before they ever get better.  This is a time for us to be united under Christ.  Only the Lord can lead us through this.  It is in Him that we must trust.  It is through faith that we shall overcome.  This is a time for prayer and meditation.  1st Peter 1:13 tells us: “Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ”.  Hope and faith, brethren, that is the key to survival.  Do not just think that the Lord is real and keeps His promises; know it with all your heart and soul.  That knowledge is the path to true salvation.  With it, we can defeat anything that this world throws at us. Wage Peace, Not War

https://www.pexels.com/photo/german-love-padlock-4662/Luke 1:77-79  To give knowledge of salvation to His people by the remission of their sins, through the tender mercy of our God, with which the Dayspring from on high has visited us; To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”

Dear Readers, May the peace of Christ be ever upon you.  I want to tell all of you, everyone who reads my posts, that I love you in the name of Jesus.  Praise His Name!  Shout Hallelujah!  When I say, “everyone”, I mean even those who hate and despise me.  Even those who return evil for good, and especially those who mean me harm, the ones who think of me as  their enemy and wish to take down this site.  I want you to know that I love you most of all.  Even the M.D.O.C. and the prison administration, who have begun to threaten me weekly, and who only last Friday told me that I will remain in solitary confinement until I stop writing.  I love you!  That love has been hard won within my spirit.  Like any normal human being, my first thoughts upon being attacked are often those of indignation.  But, like any true Christian, the love of my Lord Jesus Christ and His Spirit which dwells within me has led me to the ways of peace and forgiveness. Not Of This World

https://www.pexels.com/photo/sky-lights-space-dark-2154/I Corinthians 2:12   Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.”

Dear Readers,  Greetings, blessings and grace to you, my brothers and sisters.  I would like to speak to you about things and people which are not of this world.  Now, I’m not talking about little green men or martians with ray guns; Nor am I speaking of alien abductions.  This is not about close encounters.  No, sir.  I want to talk to you about things which are supernatural.  Things like the love of Christ, the grace of God, true salvation and the Holy Spirit.  I want to talk about joy, peace and love – the kind which is completely out of the realm of understanding to an unsaved person.  Romans 12:2 says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”  Now, it is important to note in this verse, that Paul [the author] is not speaking of our beautiful planet earth per se; Nor is he suggesting that we not get along with the people on it.  What he is talking about is the sinful nature of this world; the corruption which has taken over the vast majority of this world.  It is the evil, greedy, lustful temptations of this world that lead men and women to darkness.  The sinful nature of this world has become as a bottomless pit, a black hole, an evil abyss which swallows non-believers whole.  Be you not conformed to it.  Be not given to its temptations.  Beware the sinful wishes of this world; For they will devour you. The Meaning Of Life

gratisography.com/pictures/125_1.jpgJohn 15:5   “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”

Dear Readers,  Greetings and salutations to you, my brothers and sisters.  May the God of peace and love be ever present in your life.  As always, my love and prayers are with you.  Yesterday I was pondering the meaning of life.  The Lord our God has revealed to me the meaning of life in this world and even the ultimate meaning in the next.  It is no secret.  He reveals it all to those who read scripture; those whom seek knowledge, meaning and wisdom.  As I meditated, prayed and pondered the meaning of life and what it means to mankind, I could not help but realize how many people feel life is meaningless.  There are many more who have been misdirected or misguided.  Some pray to false gods.  Others worship money, power and instant gratification in the form of sex, drugs, material luxury or even violence.  They are driven only by lust.  This is why our world is so sick.  It is maddening to me because so few of us realize what the truth is.

I am currently surrounded by men who lack meaning.  I pray to my Lord often to help me to help them.  “Give me the strength, Lord.”, I pray.  “Open their ears and soften their hearts, please, Father.”, I beg.  Yea, though I know that more souls will be lost than gained, still I continue to do my best to lead people to the path of salvation.  For that is my purpose; That is my meaning here on earth.
