Seek Ye First The Kingdom Of God

Randall Daluz _ Girl Looking At SunsetMatthew 6:33  “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Dear Readers:  What does it mean to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness”? It took me a little while to grasp that concept.  You see, I thought that by studying the Bible and praying, I was doing what Matthew 6:33 said; but I was only half right. We need to seek God in everything we do. We need to pray on every important decision we make.

I have been in three meaningful relationships with women in my life; two of them lasting for more than five years. My last relationship lasted twelve years. I still love them all very much, but our relationships were rocky. I was never able to make any of them a lifelong commitment.  There is no doubt that the love was real, but something was missing and I know what it was – GOD.  We needed God to make a solid foundation on which to build. Matthew 7:24-27 says, “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”  The Lord is our Rock. When we build on him, what we built shall never fall.  We must seek God first in all that we do; not just in our relationships, but in everything.  Stay in constant communication with God. Pray on every major decision – whether it be family, work, financial, friendship or love.  God wants to be a part of everything you do. As long as we do what is in His will, we can’t go wrong. Hallelujah!

Matthew 7:7 says  “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”  Pray!  I cannot express that enough.  Pray!  Seek first the kingdom of God.  He is listening, He loves you and He wants the best for you.  Have faith; Trust in Him.  I want you to keep something in mind when you do pray.  God will not always give us what we want – He is not a genie.  However, He will always give us what we truly need. That is empirical, my friends.  Do not fret nor doubt if you don’t get what you want, rather have faith and trust that the Lord knows best. Believe that He is doing what is right for you. Trust in His will.

Have you ever heard the Lord’s Prayer? Matthew 6:10 says “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” – Not our will, His will be done. Study that prayer, for it is the perfect prayer.  Read Matthew 6:9-13.  Pray, brothers and sisters.  Pray!  Amen!  Pray for what you need and not what you want. Have faith and God will give you the discernment to know the difference.  When you end your prayers, end them as our Lord Jesus did.  He said, “…never-the-less Father, not my will, but Your will be done.”  Do not trust in yourself, but in God!  Remember, we are flesh and our flesh has sinful desires.  Jesus is perfect.  Trust in Him.  Amen!  Hallelujah!  Praise God!  Seek first the kingdom of God!  Now you know the meaning if you did not already.  Take this knowledge and use it wisely.  When you do, your life will be enriched beyond measure.  Amen!

May God Bless and Keep You. May you seek Him first in all that you do.
Love in Christ,
Randall
