Give and Ye Shall Also Receive

Randall_Daluz_Thanksgiving_MealLuke 11:41 But rather give alms of such things as you have; then indeed all things are clean to you.

The first Thanksgiving was meant to celebrate the harvest.  The Pilgrims did not know how to farm the land in the new world.  In an act of kindness, the Indians taught them and shared their crops with them.  When you have more than you need, you should share it with those who have less.  Jesus has more than all of us and He shares it with as many as will receive it.  We should give freely and without expecting anything in return or expecting recognition.  God will bless you for it, but do not do it for blessings; rather, do it because it is what is right in the eyes of the Lord.  As you fill your bellies and celebrate a bountiful year, please consider the poor and give alms to them.

Matthew 6:1-4  Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.

May God bless and keep you!
Love In Christ,
Randall
